The parade down Spring Street starts at 10:30am, with the Pig War Picnic (food, music, children's activities & silent auction) at the Historical Museum starting at 11:30am, and music at the Port of Friday Harbor in the evening at 6:30pm.

The day ends with fireworks over the harbor at dusk.

The Rock the Dock concert at the Port features the Fabulous Timebenders  — sponsored by the Rotary Club with proceeds to support the fight against polio. Food, beverages, ice cream, and beer garden — starts at 6:30pm.

Parade: You may pick up parade entries at the Chamber office, Bison Gallery and Petro San Juan. The theme of the parade is 'Island Animals on Parade' to celebrate our island wildlife and our pets! Parade fee is $$25 and starting time is 10:30am.

Kiwanis Club is proud to present the annual Pig War Picnic at the San Juan Historical Museum grounds on Price Street. Come join us for food, games, live entertainment and a beer garden. Parade contest winners announced during picnic by Pat O'Day, emcee, Mike Vouri and Sugarland telling the Pig War Story. 'Eat Locally' is a way of life for many residents in the San Juan Islands. Our local Farmers' Market gives us access to island—raised produce, berries, flowers, meat, eggs and dairy products, as well as local seafood and shellfish. The market also features freshly cooked and prepared foods made from local ingredients.

The San Juan Island Farmers' Market has expanded to more than 40 vendors over the past 10 years. It is held on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. in Friday Harbor, Washington. Local farmers from all around the San Juan Islands bring their beautiful produce and artisan products to sell.

The Farmers' Market' regular season opens from 10 am to 1 pm at the Courthouse parking lot in Friday Harbor each April, and continues every Saturday until October.

Saturday, July 05th, 2008 - Legion Auxiliary: Collection for the troops

On the first Saturday of each month from 10am — 6pm, The Legion Auxiliary collects food and comfort items as well as money for postage to send care packages to our local service men who are serving overseas. We have vowed to continue this collection to make sure that every local serviceman gets a package from home once a month until his tour of duty is over.

We pack the boxes for mailing the following Wednesday at 5:30pm in the Legion basement. The public is welcome to come and help — kids and families are welcome to attend.
